What started as a small tournament in 2017 has grown into one of the largest and most popular golf tournaments in the Black Hills. In our inaugural year, we had 13 teams register. By 2018, that number had more than doubled to 34 teams, nearly a full tournament. In 2019, the tournament filled completely for the first time with a full field of 36 teams.

Although COVID forced the cancellation of the 2020 tournament, we came roaring back in 2021 with another full field and even a small waiting list. By 2022, that waiting list had grown to nearly 10 teams, marking our strongest tournament yet at the time.

​

After eight years and the incredible turnout of the 2024 Fallen Officer Memorial Golf Tournament, which sold out in a record four days and hosted 38 teams, with several more turned away due to limits, we were already humbled by the support this community has shown.

 

Then came 2025.

​

The 2025 tournament saw another outstanding turnout, once again hosting 38 teams and reaffirming the event as one of the premier golf tournaments in the region. It was an extremely successful tournament and a clear testament to how far this event has come since its humble beginnings. From 13 teams in 2017 to repeated sellouts and continued growth, the support from our golfers, sponsors, and community has been nothing short of remarkable.

Again, this tournament would not be the success it has been over these nine years without the unwavering support of our sponsors and golfers. We cannot thank you enough for your continued dedication to this community, its youth, and our first responders.

 

We would like to invite all teams to enter our tournament in 2026. The date of that tournament will be Saturday July 11th, 2025. Limited spots are available for the 2026 tournament so be sure to register early!

New This Year: A More Competitive 2‑Person Golf Tournament

1st Annual Badges for Hope Open

 

We’re excited to announce the addition of a brand‑new, highly competitive 2‑person golf tournament to this year’s slate of events! Scheduled for September, this tournament is designed for golfers looking to test their skills in a high‑stakes environment with a higher‑dollar entry fee that will generate significant payouts for the top teams.

This event will feature handicapped play, creating an even playing field and giving every team a shot at the leaderboard. In addition to the main tournament, golfers can take part in several side competitions, including:

​

• Individual stroke play challenges

• Random blind-drawn head-to-head matchups

• A Calcutta held the night before, offering even more excitement and opportunities to win big

 

Following tournament play, golfers will be treated to a post‑event dinner, where awards and payouts will be handed out that evening.

This new format brings a fresh, competitive edge to our lineup of events, and we couldn’t be more excited to roll it out.
